Reva/Ingredients

Explained like a scientist.

No smiley faces, no scare emoji. Every ingredient gets the full record - the dose that matters, the rules where you live, and the source behind every line.

featured record

Retinol, in full.

The molecule the scanners love to redden. Read straight, it is neither miracle nor poison: a genuine anti-ageing active that earns a dose gate and a plain reason for it. Here is the whole record, and the four rulebooks it answers to.

where you live changes everything

One molecule, four rulebooks.

Same retinol, four different lines in the sand. A global app models one and notes the rest as an exception. Reva models all four as data.

Australia AICIS + TGA

Cosmetic-grade retinol is unscheduled to 1%; the actual Schedule 4 entries are the pharmaceutical retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene), and topical retinol above 1% is treated as prescription-strength. Retinaldehyde is GHS Repr. 1B and needs an AICIS assessment certificate (EVA00186, effective 27 June 2026). Hydroxypinacolone retinoate is unscheduled up to 0.5%.

European Union SCCS/1639/21

0.3% retinol-equivalent on the face, 0.05% on the body, and a pregnancy warning required on pack.

United States FDA

No concentration cap. A California Prop 65 reproductive-harm flag applies to product sold in the state.

Canada Health Canada

The strictest of the four: 1.0% on the face, 0.2% on the body.

the graph

A few records from the graph as it stands.

Coverage is uneven and still growing. Skincare is thinner than colour cosmetics, and a gap stays marked as a gap. Each mark is a shape, a plain word and a source you can open.

Look up what's on your shelf.

We are building the graph in reviewed batches, dose-aware and sourced, with the gaps left visible rather than filled in. Paste a label and read yours straight.
